“Christmas is a time when kids tell Santa what they want and adults pay for it. Deficits are when adults tell the government what they want, and their kids pay for it.”
-Gov. Richard Lamm of Colorado, 1984
Lamm was the longest serving governor in Colorado state history. He was in office from 1975 to 1987. Lamm now serves as the director of the Center for Public Policy and Contemporary Issues at the University of Denver.
